About Automobile Engineering

The department of Automobile engineering has been established with a vision to achieve excellence in the field of automobile & educate students in the area of automobile engineering that will meet the need of an industry. The department has well equipped laboratories, well qualified & experience staff. The department is eternally engaged in the academic enrichment of students as well as their overall progress by revealing them to the real problems through industrial visits, projects & guidance through participation in various competitions. The department conducts various value added programs & seminars to enhance students practical knowledge & employability. Also department runs RTO authorized motor driving school.

1.Prof. R.D. Wategaonkar has received Minor Research Grant of Rs. 28000 from Mumbai University for year 2016-17.
2.Prof. S. S. Surve guided the students for Students’ GO-Karting championship.
3.Prof. P.L. Mane has completed M.E. in Machine Design from Mumbai University.
4.Prof. R.D. Wategaonkar has completed M. Tech in Machine Design from V.J.T.I, Mumbai

4.Students of Automobile & Mechanical have successfully participated in Student's Formula Racing Championship & Go-Karting competition.
5.Mr. Suraj Yadav, Vinay Salavi, Shreyansh Mirani and Ms. Samidha Tanawade participated in DIPEX 2018.

      On behalf of our staff members, I welcome you for a stimulating learning journey. The department of Automobile Engineering was started in the year 1999 affiliated to University of Mumbai with an intake of 30 per year and has made significant achievements during this journey. Department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members in diversified streams and have published papers in reputed national and international journals.
      The courses are designed to create engineers with strong modeling, experimental and design ability with excellent communication and team working skills. Students are welcomed with warm greetings with an aim of creating automotive leaders of tomorrow. The department prides in its academic achievements by bagging various medals with numerous university ranks. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories which include numerous I C engines and in detail apparatus to learn about all mechanisms of automotive which provide hands-on experience to meet the learning requirements of students.
      The Department has variety of MOUs as a part of Industry Institute Relation. Our alumni are employed by automotive giants such as Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, Hyundai, OLA Electric, Force Motors, McLaren Automotive UK, Air India, Tata Motors and OEM suppliers like BOSCH.
